Did you know that the average American spends an average of 813.3 days in their bathrooms during their lifetime? Of course, we are in there for obvious reasons, but oftentimes we are also using the bathroom space to get ready for our days, putting on our best faces, and even sometimes finding a bit of quiet time in our days. This is also why we refer to them as “Rest Rooms”, a place for us to rest and take a moment alone. With so much time spent in our bathrooms, shouldn’t we make that space the best it can be? It’s time for a few of our favorite Bathroom Transformations!
In this month’s blog, we wanted to not only highlight the versatility of our work from project to project but also help you dream a little bit when it comes to your own bathroom. Truly the sky is the limit to what we CAN do, the only limit is your time and budget. We put together some of our most amazing bathroom transformations to get you inspired to think about your “Rest” room in a different light!
As always though, before we get too far, let’s talk about why you should remodel your bathroom. We know you want to get to the fun part of seeing the finished projects below so we’ll make it a quick list of reasons a bathroom remodel should be in your future.
- Make it Your “Rest” Room – As we stated before, this room should provide some amount of rest and relaxation. Oftentimes, outdating buildings didn’t design with comfort in mind. In addition to being comfy, a well-designed remodel will also ensure that your space suits you and looks fantastic as well!
- ROI (Return on Investment) – We all want our investments to pay off in the long run. ROI for a bathroom remodel increases by as much as 102% depending on the level of renovation! If done correctly, you can literally pay yourself back for your dream bathroom!
- Efficiency and Sustainability – As we move toward a more sustainable world, there are many places in your home where measures can be taken to increase efficiency and overall be more green. Things like replacing old plumbing to installing water-wise toilets and fixtures can make a big difference!
- To correct and prevent damage – Whether it be old plumbing or poor ventilation, bathrooms can cause unexpected problems. Renovating allows you to take a look at the “old bones” in order to fix any existing problems and rebuild with prevention in place to mitigate any future problems.
Now that we’ve covered the all-important “Why?”, let’s start to daydream a little bit about your space! We’ve renovated bathrooms of all shapes and sizes over the years so if you can dream it, likely we can make that dream come true. Need more storage? Not a problem, we can add shelves and drawers galore! Ready to install a shower or take out a bathtub? We’ve got you covered! Want to knock down that wall and make your bathroom bigger? We’ve got our demo team geared up for you! Now all that’s left to do is dream it up.
Here are 3 bathroom transformations that we hope will help get you inspired and motivated to make your bathroom a “Rest” room.
His and Hers Bathroom Renovation
This was a “double whammy” project as we got to design and remodel 2 bathrooms at the same time. The two spaces turned out incredibly different, as you can see. On the left is “His” bathroom where the homeowners chose a clean, sophisticated look using dark wood and muted colors with a traditional bathtub/shower combo. Turns out, the Mr. loves to take baths! As for the “Hers” space, she wanted her bathroom to POP, and we delivered. Utilizing bright red as the accent color makes the finished project so fun and yet modern, even a bit posh! We especially love these cool tiles throughout the half-wall shower. We are so grateful for the opportunity to show our design capabilities and construction chops in not one, but two amazing bathrooms at once!
Clean Sophistication
This gorgeous finished bathroom was part of a whole home remodel that united the entire home using clean lines and pops color for accent and continuity. Using stark, white tile makes this room look bigger while also providing a serene and calming feel. Notice the matching dark fixtures and repeating patterns throughout the room. From the bath faucet to the accent shelves in the shower, the design choices were meant to add character and a bit of weight to the design. The addition of a large, inviting bathtub, and a few plants are the finishing touch of warmth to complete the project. Here’s what the homeowner had to say about working with Christie’s –
“Christie’s is a reliable and trustworthy partner for any home remodeling project. We partnered with Christie’s to design and remodel our entire home in Boulder and we LOVE how it turned out. They helped us work with the city to get permits and approvals, worked well with our other partners (landscaping, painters), and helped us get into our home in record time. We would highly recommend them on any project.” Kelly, Homeowner
Building and Oasis
This is our most recently finished project and, boy, are we proud of it! I mean look at how the hardwood plays so beautifully with those raised sinks! Down to the color choices in linens, the space is well thought out and even brings some of the outside scenery inside. The addition of glass doors on the shower allows for the room to have some lightness and space, while the dark tile weights the room nicely. Of course, we wouldn’t be doing this project proud without mentioning how the AMAZING lighted mirror adds so much levity to the design! From top to bottom, this finished bathroom is everything the homeowners dreamed of and we couldn’t be happier.
As you can see, all 3 of these bathrooms are very different and utilize the full range of our specialties and talents as a team here at Christie’s Design Build.
