- Mini Consult: A 15-minute consultation happens first. During this call, Alyssa, or another designer on Christie’s team, will field your questions, concerns, and thoughts for your remodel. The consultant you speak with will try to understand what matters most in this project. Not only what you are imagining for your successful remodel, but the contractor(s) you trust enough to work with through a whole remodel. We want to get a sense of if we are good fits for one another.
- Initial Consultation: If we are ready for the next step, we will schedule an hour-long, more in-depth consultation. Getting to know clients is what Alyssa loves best. She will focus the second meeting on discovery — style, durability, design — what is your vision? We want to see it as you envision it. At Christie’s, understanding your expectations matters because we know that your home is your sanctuary. We accomplish that by interpreting your concepts, sourcing materials and supplies, providing subcontractors, and finishing the job within the agreed-upon timeframe. When it comes to a new project we consider things like ROI (Return On Investment), overall design, and the long-term durability of the finished product. - Planning and Pre-Construction: Now is when we come to an agreement that Christie’s is your number one choice for this remodel. We start really bringing your vision to life in step 3! Alyssa works her design magic; think of her as a sort of dream-home interpreter. It’s important that she knows how you want to feel post-remodel, and pre-construction is the perfect time to mention your biggest concerns about the project results.
Those concerns will be put to rest as we guide you through quality product selections, do our homework for engineering requirements, necessary city permits, and come up with the final buildout proposal. There is comfort in knowing that you work with experts.
Once a final design is agreed upon and approved by the client, measurements must be recorded, subcontractors contracted, 3D renderings rendered, and samples secured. Furniture might need to be moved or removed and areas of the home closed off to minimize dust. Finally, construction begins!
4. Construction: The moment that everyone has been waiting for! Tiles are laid, the cabinets installed, and that dreadful lighting fixture has been replaced. This part can get messy but the end is in sight and your design takes shape before your eyes. Hooray for new, shiny things that you’ve been waiting for!
